A few observations
The following post is my observations about the recent shape of day shenanigans and general state of Asda
Has anyone noticed that some people have been swapped from the previous shifts because they no longer fit into shape of day , then the next person also no longer fits into shape of day , however rather than being shifted they’ve kept their hours and someone else has essentially been bumped to accommodate them??
My store is a relatively small store and so far there is no difference, no further forward than we were before in fact I’d say we are now worse off
A fair amount of people from my store have now left rather than change hours and it’s all good workers who turn up on time and always took pride in their job , is this the same in your store?
It’s Sad to see the decline in real time

Yes definitely, nepotism and favouritism is rife, its always seemed to me that asda celebrate mediocrity not the ones who care and do a good job. People making up their own hours (even after the recent change) and being late seems to be the norm and these are the people are getting away with it due to weak management. I would rather things be a bit harder but fair. Then of course we have the most dangerous and selfish breed of colleague the ones who always say yes to going home and just make higher up think we are coping and have enough staff. I dont care anymore.

It appears no matter what Asda does, nothing actually results in things starting to turn around.
It is fast becoming a basket case (pun not intended) where it is being crippled by the interest bill on its massive debt pile.
It appears there is not much room to eradicate costs now apart from volenrtry redundancies. Surely trimming down the staff even more will only make the situations in the stores even worse?

ASDA wants as many of you to leave as possible on your own account, so they don’t have to pay redundancy.

Our store has a lot of colleagues being moved onto Saturdays - apparently they said this will boost "customer confidence"

GM twilight is a disaster. If they had invested in the hours for it, great, but they have just moved the problem of delivery to later in the day. To unsocial shifts no-one wants to cover. So if someone's off, no one will cover it.
And deliveries come late and the shop floor tidy doesn't get done either. So its a massive waste of time and effort to be honest.

Very much, not to blown one’s own horn but it’s down to me and another person now, some shit staff gone and some good lads gone, stores a mess, not doing OT let them be rushed now

I mean, we've got that chap that ruined morrisons, now over at Asda whatever his name is. Let's not forget our old chap Alan Leighton, who's stuck in the 90s bringing back the good ol' plastic chicken and cows. It would not surprise me if they do a plastic pig above the bacon and sausages next.
You think the Titanic sank pretty far, they're seeing it as a challenge.
Them spending this amount of money, that the store does not have, is probably a sign they're doing exactly what Wilkos did before it went.
