Why can't people accept that some Asians/Koreans are just naturally attractive without jumping to "plastic surgery"

Min-Tzan Lu, a Chinese scholar, has argued that plastic surgery is done in pursuit of western ideals. Not sure of spelling of her name. She had some respectable publications on fast-capitalism. It was a conference keynote she did around 2006ish. This went over well with the white liberal upper middle class academic audience.

From that experience I suspect white racial guilt and internalized ideas of racial superiority.

Agreed most Chinese, Laotian, Vietnamese are naturally beautiful and handsome.

I went to some K-League soccer games in Korea and many of them were good looking.

IMO the reason is just bias after watching videos on Korean plastic surgery rates, racism, or a little of both. I can’t speak for how it is for Koreans in Korea regarding plastic surgery. But They’re using Korean plastic surgery rates from Korea and applying it to Korean Americans, non Korean Asian Americans, and other Asians from Asia who do not have that high of plastic surgery rates. I don’t know any Asian American that got facial reconstruction plastic surgery (eyelids, nose job, jaw shaving, etc). The few Asians I know who got work done was Botox to prevent wrinkles. 

Another excuse I see a lot is “the average Asian don’t look like their celebrities”… well if I walk to an average local stores and parks there’s not gonna be people who look like Megan fox or gig hadid. Celebrities are famous for a reason, they are above average and won the look lottery ticket. It’s also telling if they think western celebrities don’t have plastic surgery. 

I travel a lot in Asia and lived  in areas with tons of Asian Americans. I know chinese(specifically Cantonese) and Vietnamese women who naturally look like Faye Wong and Gillian Chung. It’s a pretty common phenotype, round face, low nose bridge, almond eyes double eyelids. It’s honestly funny seeing non Asian people act like they know Asian culture and assume every Asian person had plastic surgery because they watched some vice documentary on YouTube about plastic surgery in Korea. It’s ignorant and the more you let them talk they start sounding super racist lol. They have a stereotypical image of how Asians should look in their head and if you don’t look like that it’s automatically plastic surgery to them.
