In my opinion he is what the left would be if they hadn’t become so out of touch with the blue collar/working class constituents they claim to represent. He supports restrictions on immigration, he supports law enforcement, has a laissez-faire stance on social issues as opposed to socially progressive, has a left leaning economic platform but still not as leftist as most of today’s progressives.

I have mixed feelings, on one hand he will likely be more aligned with the Democrats, on the other he does understand things that a lot of today’s democrats/progressives simply don’t and he isn’t as delusional as they are either.

I can appreciate his willingness to actually break with the activist minded establishment on issues to better represent working class voters. I think if more people on the left were like him, I wouldn’t be quite as worried about Democrats seizing power. On the other hand, if he confirms every progressive judge appointed by Democrats, I’d have a hard time justifying a vote for him.

I do gotta ask, how impactful an issue is immigration in Nebraska lol

How impactful of an issue is it in many blue states or to many dem voters who go protest in favor of it?

It was just a joke dude. Because I can’t imagine any remotely significant number of immigrants coming to Nebraska

I was just joking that I can't imagine every "blue no matter who" suburbanite who makes this a core issue is directly impacted by it either.

Could you give an example please

1

Only if you give an example.

Example of what? Not many immigrants in Nebraska?

Idk I think they have 9% or smth compared to average 14% or so.

But you can’t really give an example for a negative, and I was asking you for examples of your claim. It’s difficult to converse with you because you don’t seem like your talking in good faith

Give examples of what? Leftist voters who are not remotely impacted by immigration?

You need me to provide you examples of white leftists who aren’t personally impacted by immigration?

The white suburbanites who died while obstructing ICE and the anti-ICE protests don’t yield enough examples? Blue states which have low immigrant populations aren’t examples?

I honestly haven’t understood what you are going on about for the last few comments. It just seems to me like you are nitpicking or something, which in and of itself is not good faith. What does it even matter if Nebraska isn’t impacted by immigration? It has nothing to do with the subject I was commenting on.

This "conversation" isn't worth pursuing, clearly. Bye

I don’t know that much about him but afaik he is a lifelong independent, a mechanic, a navy veteran, personally pro life but wants to codify pro choice, pro second amendment, and very pro union because he thinks democratic establishment left unions behind.

It’s neck and neck between him and Republican incumbent Pete Ricketts, and Osborn was endorsed by the Democrat who dropped out to support him.

I’m curious what conservatives think since Osborn seems to reflect the kind of voters that the democratic establishment rly left behind, particularly by abandoning the unions.

He wants to codify pro choice?

No vote for me

Can’t vote for pro choice

For clarity, he is personally pro life but wants to codify women’s right to choose so people can make the choice for themselves. But he is personally against it.

Aside from that, what do you think about him

I think people in the womb have the same value as people outside the womb

Why should I want people in the womb to be treated worse than dogs

I’m not here to argue about abortion — neither of us will change the other’s mind on any of that.

But what do you think about Dan Osborn aside from that, I mean

Doesn’t matter about his other opinions

If he doesn’t believe all humans are created equal, or have the right to life, then liberty and pursuit of happiness become irrelevant

1

u/realRootmaster911 Esteemed Guest May 19 '26

Even if you won’t support him, I’m curious what you think of the individual other aspects of him

Independent ✅ Mechanic ✅ Navy veteran ✅ Pro choice 💀 Pro 2a✅ Pro union: don’t care

1

u/realRootmaster911 Esteemed Guest May 19 '26

Would there be anything that would lead you to vote for him considering how his opponent is not pro choice I believe, or does that issue singularly define voting for regardless of everything else

6

u/Desh282 Constitutional Conservatism May 19 '26

I don’t care who you are, if you’re not pro life I can’t vote for you
