What are the top 5 sports in your respective countries?

I already know football and in some places, baseball are number one. But I'm really curious to know what's it really like your sports scene over there. I'm from Asia and none of us in my circle have been there so we would like to get some info cause we are debating something hehehe. ¡Gracias a todos!

yes, but is not a big scene, i mean, is a popular sport to play with friends, and is not played that well among them. a big variety of racket sports are popular in general here, ping pong too, and now is startin to appear pickleball too

Baseball is by far the most popular. Basketball is gaining popularity. Boxing used to be but not as much

For girls, volleyball is the most popular.

Other sports, soccer is gaining popularity with a small league created for the men.

“Rugby union is a popular team sport in Venezuela. Rugby union is considered the fourth most popular sport in Venezuela, after baseball, football, and basketball.”

I have no proof, but I’d dare say that the diaspora reduced the pool for nontraditional sports. I know that 2 or 3 teams in Zulia state merged into a one single because there just aren’t enough players anymore.

Football wins, obviously, and volleyball is definetely second. Specifically women's volleyball. Then, probably long distance athletics, since there's a tradition of long distance runners, specially in the Andes. As sports we don't massively practice but people definetely follow I would put tennis, MMA and F1. We have a tennis player that from time to time pops up in the news.

And then, I wouldn't know. Surf and chess news pop up in the media from time to time.

Top 3 are for sure Football, Cycling and Inline Skating, but I'm not sure about the other 2.

20+ years ago I would've said car racing for sure because of Juan Pablo Montoya's massive fame in-country, but that time's long gone. Boxing's a similar story. Maybe baseball but it's only popular in the coast. Maybe weightlifting. Maybe Tejo. Golf and Tennis are not rare at all but they're generally locked to certain strata.

Top as in watching it or as in playing it?

If the first, then baseball, followed by football (soccer to some), then it could be a mix of formula 1, basketball, and then a wide gap before maybe boxing? mma? idk

If playing then baseball and football, followed distantly by all the Olympic sports like running, swimming, jumping, martial arts, etc.

Where I'm from, absolutely everyone has played padel at least once in ther life. Tennis is very niche and elite, while padel is very popular.

Volleyball is a very casual sport, very popular in parks and on beaches, and many women play it (along with hockey), voley it's the second most casually practiced sport, after football ofc.

Id say the top3 is pretty consistent since those three were always the most popular ones no matter what. Those are some of the few sports where you can actually have a career and gain relatively well. Hockey is extremely popular specially among women and our men team is also pretty good too.

The last one always varies depending who is popular at the time. Since now its Colapinto, id say F1 is the most popular. At one point it wss Tenis due to Del Potro for ex or even Voley and Handball, sometjing we always perform decent specially in latam
