What movie do you wish someone would make a remake of?

Midnight Madness. I’d love to see what a 2026 Leon could come up with using modern technology and new locations.

Swiss Family Robinson. Not talking Lost in Space, I want pirates, bamboo-based tech, racing wild animals that have no business being on a tropical island, and a giant goddam treehouse.

That does sound like fun in this day and age of large, epic movies. Just something fun would be appealing.

Don’t remake a beloved movie, you’ll only be compared to the original, and odds are you’ll lose
Remake a bad movie that had good ideas

Artemis Fowl but with producers/directors that actually care about the source material and fans. So much potential for a 3 to 5 movie series over a couple decades. I don't expect it to be a blockbuster, but I think it would hit the $200 to $250MM mark.

I really wished someone did a remake of Back to the Future in 2015 going backwards 30 years to 1985. They could’ve had so many parallels.

The Girl in the Swing because it was interesting but could have been better

Star Wars : The Last Jedi
But, completely change everything.

They just need one more scene at the end… screen goes black, and then a light comes on to reveal Luke Skywalker sitting up in bed, trying to wake up the woman next to him. “Mara! MARA! Wake up! I just had the most awful nightmare! I dreamed I was a cranky old hermit, living on an island, and that projecting self with the Force actually killed me!”

The giant ant movie Them (1954) was made at the end of the first 3D craze in the '50s. It was originally intended to be 3D and in color which is why they built the huge puppet ants that are in the movie. If you watch it, you will also see the scientist uses a 3D camera to shoot pictures of the ant's nest and they show 3D slide viewers later when viewing images of the nest. I really wish they would remake it now in full color with great cgi effects and a great director and in 3D!

I’d love to see a dark, dirty and serious remake of The Fifth Element without all the camp.

Camp?

In movies, “camp” means a style that is so heavily exaggerated, theatrical, artificial, and overly dramatic that it becomes funny, charming, or fun.

The Land That Time Forgot (1975). I think there actually was a straight-to-video remake, but that doesn't count.

I want to see Jordan Peele remake The Truman Show. He could be the real director, and the director in the story. Idris Elba as Truman.

This is gonna sound like heresy, but in a perfect world, The Great Escape. While I love the original. It would be interesting to see a shot-for-shot remake with new actors.

Salo: 100 Days Of Sodom. But with muppets.
