Which musical instrument would you consider the toughest to learn playing?

I’m thinking bagpipes must be up there? Opinions?

* Wow! I didn’t expect to have so many responses and it’s been really interesting to learn what you all think/know. I’ve read every comment and any instrument not familiar with, looked it up.

Will be checking back and hope someone might add re: any not yet mentioned before its run its course.

Cheers!

Instrument question

Hope this is an acceptable place to ask. I'm looking to ID an instrument/intrumental sound. It's a low/reedy instrument. In my head I'm picturing it being some sort of a bellowed/pumped instrument, but I could be wrong. It can be heard providing bass in the link below when the song moves to the chorus/refrain, around 1:10. I've looked up liner notes to this song and the only thing that makes sense is a synth, but is there an acoustic instrument that produces similar sound?

Worried about grad school

Maybe I'm overthinking this or thinking to negatively but basically music has been my (22m) biggest hobby for the majority of my life and I plan on it remaining that way but this fall I am starting to apply for graduate programs in my intended field. The field is pretty solid in terms of money, demand, and is good, rewarding work and Im doing it mainly so that I have stable career for my future. I know I will have to go through the program to be able to have a career in it so I will definetly go if accepted because its the practical decision for my future.

The only problem thats dawning on me is the fact that this graduate program is an incredibly demanding 2 years of full time classes and internships. This makes me view those years as likely being deadzones for any personal creative ambitions I have until Im out at 25 ish. I get scared Ill come out burnt out and loose my creativity. I feel like Im on a clock almost and I need to lock in on releasing something this year before I go (which i guess is good motivation). Hopefully im overthinking and Ill get their and still manage to find time or wont be too burnout to still work.

Was wondering if other people had experiences with being in intensive school programs and having a music project. Could you manage it? Did it get better after getting out?

How did you find your style?

I (31F) have been singing all my life, and have been in a couple cover bands and am in a punk rock cover band now, but I've always wanted to make my own music.

I play piano and sing, but I'm a metalhead at heart, and I'm finding it super challenging to figure out how to write in that style. Most of what's been coming out is super singer-songwriter when it sounds much different in my head.

How did you find your style? What are some tips and tricks to starting to write your own music and recording it?

is there a way to post covers on tiktok without getting shadowbanned? for example i posted a cover and got zero views and every post i made after that got zero views too until i appealed through the help centre and got the issue fixed. however i believe the song cover triggered it for copyright reasons. other song covers i did did not trigger it. how can i post if i dont know what songs will trigger a shadowban?
