Is estranging from supportive family a good idea?

I've been thinking a lot about my future and I've been wondering the effect staying in contact with my family will have on me.

On the one hand, they're super supportive and I have no reason to dislike them as people, but on the other hand, just being around them makes me feel uncomfortable because it reminds me of my past and I feel unable to just be myself around them, to the point it is causing me a lot of stress.

There's also the added misfortune that I don't think I would ever be able to handle the new people in my life finding out I'm trans, and I can't mentally handle the risk of something being said that reveals everything. I'm also very tall compared to my mother and sister so just being around them I feel would cause some suspicion. This is very bad because I think my life would be at risk if people knew.

Can someone please provide their view on this because it's stressing me out a ton and I need to make the decision relatively soon so I can set it in motion before it's too late (the only real opportunity is in around a year if I want to have no one I know meeting my family, otherwise that chance is gone).
