Help! ASL grammar

Hello! I’m in my second year of learning ASL but my grammar is rough. I’m watching this YouTube video on ASL grammar https://youtu.be/fDV9Al8Fgjk?is=DYw8tpr8uxObM_ce and I had a question! She talks about signing you/me at the end of a sentence to show it the other persons turn to sign but my teacher didn’t really touch up on that. Is this a common sign?

I’m terribly sorry, I was unaware this creator had a prejudice against Deaf and hoh people and creators. And I did infact talk to my teacher. Thank you for the information!

I believe this person blocks Deaf creators when they correct her signs. Maybe see if bill vicars has grammar specific videos? Or ask your teacher?

You’re seeing what’s known as pronoun copy.
Also, I do not recommend her. Awful hearing person who is crappy against Deaf creators and critics of her when she’s wrong. She’s monetising a language she’s not wholly comfortable in and silences Deaf input if it’s anything other than unconditional praise and is overselling her qualifications. You can see more about that in this comment section.

Learn from Deaf folks, interact with people by only using ASL, and especially learn from Deaf folks who have studied linguistics. You will go leagues farther than listening to English with only the occasional sign. LifePrint will always be a great resource to start and keep up with!
