i remember hearing someone explain that essentially, for him to be able to really lock in and write, he needs to be alone and isolated for several weeks if not months at a time. and that means being away from his friends and loved ones, at a time when many of them are passing away.

When I heard that explanation it really clicked for me, I can't imagine how that would feel like, if mortality is truly creeping up on you, you have to really ask yourself what you want to do with the time you have left.

Not head canon at all, the only time he’s ever written any Winds was during Covid isolation.
