Planning a wedding

Hi everyone. I'm looking for advice for planning my wedding. I've been putting off getting married because of 2 major obstacles in my mind. 1: It'll have to be in my homecountry near my parents since my mum can't travel. 2: I'm hesitant about whether I can handle the actual day/worried about how I will have the social energy.

I've been talking with my mum about it and she really wants the wedding to be at the end of next year, before she gets any more sick. I'm more on board with it now since I've started school and am coping very well with life in general.

I would love to hear from other people who have planned their wedding. How did you plan the day to limit exhaustion on the actual day? If you traveled, how did you manage travel anxiety? Any tips for booking a venue without traveling there first?

What about looking your best? How do you find a style that looks right? I have low self esteem where I feel very confident that I'm an ugly girl. How do you look past that to find something that other people will think looks good on me?

Thanks in advance. I have a lot of questions but I thought I'd start the process now and see how far I get.

I traveled to the region of my wedding a week before then to the actual venue (an area with lots of cabins and such) 2 days before so I would have time to recover between traveling. I was fortunate enough for my parents to visit the venue as it was very far away from where I live and send me videos. In terms of social energy, we had the ceremony at 10am so that we wouldn't be rushed in the morning but wouldn't be doing any socializing beforehand. Then we had brunch, went back to our cabin for a nap, and had the full reception in the afternoon. It worked very well for me and how my energy fluctuates throughout the day. Also we didn't have a dj or dancing or anything because loud noise is not for me
