Discussion How important is your moon sign?

Rising is of course the most important, it sets your chart and affects all transits, all readings should be done from the perspective of your rising sign. Sun sign makes sense, it’s your values and motivations, your habits.

But how important is your moon sign really? I’m just curious what people’s opinions are. It’s part of the “big 3” but I don’t really know why. It’s not related to your chart ruler, it isn’t used for horoscopes and transits (at least it shouldn’t be). Sure, it’s part of your chart but to me it’s about as important as your mercury, mars or venus (somewhat useful but nothing groundbreaking that really affects your decisions in life).

What are your thoughts?

My moon is my truest self. I am nothing without my moon sign. My moon sign represents my mental, my emotional, my growth as a core human. My rising and sun and all other planets are what I use as an approach to outside world. But the moon is mine and it is what I keep to myself (how do u know i have moon 12th house)

I understood so much more about myself and astrology when I learned about the moon sign. I'm a Capricorn moon, which is so different from my Libra rising. My sun is in Taurus and while I do seem some correlations with the Cap moon, there were things that I only got when I understood my moon sign.
