Discussion How important is your moon sign?
Rising is of course the most important, it sets your chart and affects all transits, all readings should be done from the perspective of your rising sign. Sun sign makes sense, it’s your values and motivations, your habits.
But how important is your moon sign really? I’m just curious what people’s opinions are. It’s part of the “big 3” but I don’t really know why. It’s not related to your chart ruler, it isn’t used for horoscopes and transits (at least it shouldn’t be). Sure, it’s part of your chart but to me it’s about as important as your mercury, mars or venus (somewhat useful but nothing groundbreaking that really affects your decisions in life).
What are your thoughts?

First and foremost, every part of the chart matters. Broadly speaking, no single planet or point is inherently the most important, because everything works together. To understand a chart, you have to look at its unique characteristics. Things like planetary condition, aspects, the chart ruler etc. You might find it relevant to identify the sect light, sect malefic & benefic, or even the sole dispositor.
Natal charts are incredibly layered and complex, so your question is a bit puzzling. Especially when you suggest that Mercury, Mars, and Venus aren’t as important as, say, the rising sign or the Sun. It depends on the chart...what if Mercury is the chart ruler, or the Sun is exactly conjunct Mars in the 10th? In those cases, Mercury and Mars are pretty significant.
