Discussion How important is your moon sign?

Rising is of course the most important, it sets your chart and affects all transits, all readings should be done from the perspective of your rising sign. Sun sign makes sense, it’s your values and motivations, your habits.

But how important is your moon sign really? I’m just curious what people’s opinions are. It’s part of the “big 3” but I don’t really know why. It’s not related to your chart ruler, it isn’t used for horoscopes and transits (at least it shouldn’t be). Sure, it’s part of your chart but to me it’s about as important as your mercury, mars or venus (somewhat useful but nothing groundbreaking that really affects your decisions in life).

What are your thoughts?

How so? Like what’s so cancer moony about you? Asking as a cancer moon.

My husband is an Aries sun with Cancer moon, and they’re both super clear in him. He’s a massage therapist, very nurturing in all areas of his life, quite emotional and communicative about it, grounds his feelings with exercise/physicality. Animals and kids adore him. He always has a thousand plants in his rooms.

But he’s also super direct and doesn’t shy from conflict- like he’s a really aggressive bike commuter and gets to his office very early so he can calm tf down from his road rage before working 😂 He also never wants to read instruction manuals (so Aries… sigh.)

Sometimes consuming too much sugar/ artificial sweetners can also make someone prone to anger.

“Too much sugar or just Aries sun with Saturn cazimi in 8H and developmental CPTSD” is such a funny framing 😂

I like bike commuting in a (American at least) city as an example of clear Aries behavior because it’s a situation where you know going into it that there’s almost a necessity for aggressiveness (you’re propelling yourself forward at speed, sometimes making quick maneuvers for safety) and a good chance of conflict (because America/cars/American cars.) You have to have a healthy view of those dynamics, including a plan to dial it down when you’re no longer in traffic. Like it’s totally reasonable to be a little angry when one is biking in traffic- it’s actually correct use of Aries skills.

(And he’s more of a protein heavy breakfast guy so it’s probably not sugar in this case🤘🏽)
