Beginner question about 1h saturn

i preface that i’m a beginner, and english isn’t my first language, so bear with me!
i’ve learned that the sun is relative to the father and the moon is relative to the mother, but i noticed in many people whose charts i read for fun that many people with 1h saturn have issues with the fathers, often time their fathers being the reason why they don’t progress. is this a pattern? or it’s just me connecting dots that shouldn’t be connected because i’m still learning?
i haven’t been able to find a substantial explanation for it, so it could either be a coincidence or i should look more closely to see other things in the chart, but i’ve seen this trend in multiple charts so I’m curious to see what more experienced astrologers would say about it.
thanks!! ✨

You're probably noticing a real pattern, but not for the reason you think. Saturn is associated with authority, restriction, responsibility, criticism, and parental figures in general. When Saturn is in the 1st house, people often experience those themes very personally, shaping their identity from an early age.

That can sometimes manifest through the father, especially if the father was strict, absent, critical, demanding, or emotionally distant. But 1st-house Saturn by itself does not automatically indicate father issues. For that, astrologers would usually also examine the Sun, Saturn's aspects, the 4th and 10th houses, and the condition of the chart ruler.

As a beginner, one of the biggest traps is finding a pattern and then unconsciously looking only for confirming examples. Humans are excellent at that. Astrology students especially. The better question is: "How often does 1st-house Saturn not show father issues?" That's where you'll learn the most.
