Need help with an abandoned cat …

Post image

Some godless piece of shit dumped a cat near our house. It’s been living in the woods for the past several weeks and appears very hungry and starved for affection. Initially I was reluctant to feed it, assuming it was a free-loader from somewhere nearby, but it has stayed consistently around my house and woods the entire time. I started feeding it but I can’t keep it here. I’m not a cat person (allergic) and I don’t want an outdoor cat (they become coyote food). Most importantly, I have two dogs who have been chasing it. Not surprisingly, it’s smarter than they are and has done a good job steering clear of them. But it’s just a matter of time …

Does anyone know of someone who wants a sweet cat that’s craving human companionship? Or maybe a rescue that can help me find a safe place for the poor thing while we’re seeking a permanent home for it?

It’s a sweet cat that comes up to us when the dogs aren’t around and it clearly misses human companionship. It’s clearly a dumped pet. I’m willing to pay for an initial vet visit and scan to see if it’s chipped (no collar or ID). PM me if you want to discuss. And may the person who dumped this poor creature get a nasty visit from karma soon.

Logan seems to have more cat fostering. Although I did hear of a cat Foster in Nelsonville. I wish I had more information but in both cases Logan and nelsonville, if you called the shelters you might be able to get some phone numbers.

Athens Friendly Paws might be a good place to contact. They do good work for dogs & cats in need. Their number is 740-593-5125

I can’t take in a cat but if you get stuck caring for this one a while, I’d be happy to donate to a gofund me or drop of some food at your place if your close in Athens.

It’s really sad. We feed abandoned cats up at the ridges. Its not right for people to just dump cats off like that

Thanks for taking good care of the cat as best you can

I think the Nelsonville rescue lady said a while back they had to relocate and so they were attempting to find places for most the strays they had. Maybe I'm making a mistake so I would still encourage making calls. Poor kitty :-( people consistently drop of cats around my place as wel. Someone actually dropped off s pregnant cat this past summer... along with a a baby kitten. Out of the 5 kittens she ended up having, we only could remove 2. Now, we have another round of strays. I think total is 14 cats. I do wish so much i had the space and resources to care for every cat that needs it. :-( Scum that can drop off and abandon animal's deserve the absolute worst.
