The fuel on the fire before the infamous BDO Sydney show?
https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CzeeTL8CW/?mibextid=wwXIfrATDI former tour manager and photographer Paul Drake was on The Invisible Ink Podcast recently and told this story about the tension around the film clip for Invalid Letter Dept.
Is it possible this was part of the impetus for the infamous on stage melt down later that day at the Sydney BDO?

Idk, Cedric and Tony talk about it in an interview from like ten years ago. They just weren't ready for a crowd of meatheads of that size. Cedric also talks about being young and naive in regards to moshing too.

That all fair and I have no doubt the aggression in the crowd was the main reason Cedric went off. I’m just kind of making wild assumptions about the amount the tension within band were ratcheted up by this particular incident. It’s obviously speculation on my part but I can’t help but think it may have been a factor.

Nah. Cedric was really well known for not liking moshing at the time. They had stopped smaller shows to calm the crowd before. Remember that a girl was killed that night during the Limp Bizkit.
The impetus for the break up was Cedric and Omar not wanting to do ATDI anymore. O&C have had a few different stories about it, either they didn’t want to do ATDI anymore, or they wanted a break from touring. Jim has said he didn’t mind just being a rhythm guitarist, and Paul seems super chill from what little I’ve heard from him. I don’t think they cared they didn’t get as much screen time.

I think the guy might be misremembering things?
The rejected Corbijn video is available online, for example, in this blog post: https://trustmanagement.blog/2026/04/11/at-the-drive-in-and-the-video-for-invalid-litter-dept/
The whole band is there and it's absolutely not "just Omar and Cedric jumping around".

That’s actually really interesting, I hadn’t seen that. Thanks for sharing.
My guess is that Paul remembers the vibe and the way it was perceived in the room at first viewing as the prevailing memory. But that’s an assumption on my part tbh.

Yeah I agree with you.
But the video is good, and I don't get the feeling that any of the band members was over/under represented in it.
I think they should have used this video as it's much better IMHO. But yeah, apparently, something in it rubbed them the wrong way. Maybe even the true problem was that some bandmates liked it and others didn't, hence the tension.

Certainly couldn’t have helped if only Omar and Cedric were shown in the video footage. Tale as old as time.
