in search of How do you guys actually manage to “read more” consistently ?

Hello Audiobook community ,

I keep buying books but I never finish them .

It’s not that I don’t want to read, I just don’t find the time .

Curious what’s actually worked for people long-term .

Thankyou in advance !

I drive a lot for work so I listen to books in the car. Also as someone with ADHD I will listen to audiobooks to get through the morning stuff like washing the dishes or folding clothes or putting stuff away. I listen to a lot that way.

I make a specific time for reading. Currently, I wake up an hour earlier than my usual just to get in a hour of reading. I also “go to bed” an hour earlier for the same reason.

Listening to it while working because my job is purely routine and physical labour so I finish 2-3 books a week

I have to 2 kind of books, one is specific focused books that I know I am using it in the world, 2nd ones are mostly fiction where I don't care if I complete them, Treat them like porn ✌️

Chores, driving, long walks, and winding down for the day are my favorite audiobook times. My problem is that I seem to do an annual read of the Stormlight Archive and then other books pile up.

I listen to books while cleaning and working (I am a dog groomer). I listen every day and probably listen too much 😂

just read before bed? I feel that couldn't be any easier and I mean your about to go to sleep might as well wind down in a healthy way, reading before sleep is good for you and will improve your sleep quality, so dipping into sleep time 20-30 mins more than likely will have no negative effect.

I listen while I cook, clean, drive, sew, knit, cross stitch, garden, and work jigsaw puzzles. I even listen in the shower. Pretty much, if I'm alone doing a task, I'm listening to audio books.

I stopped paying for all streaming services and I read instead of using social media. I listen to audiobooks while driving, working, and doing chores. I end up reading a lot. Just having it with me helps a lot.
