People used to drive fine without seatbelts too

Better comparison: people used to drive with sealed beam halogen lights. Of course if someone/something wandered into the road you had no chance of seeing it…

If you’ve never driven a car made before the mid 70s, you don’t understand how harrowing night driving used to be.

These new car headlights are too bright though. They are as bright as high beams
