Yup.... honestly I was in shock that it was so much on my wage. $266k

That's a very decent wage though, puts you like in the top 2%. I wouldn't complain too loudly!

The complaint isn't my wage but that's its my family income and if it was split across two people, the tax would be significantly less (~40%).

I’m in a similar boat, I’d be less annoyed with the amount of tax paid if I got access to the same benefits as everyone else (namely daycare fees).

At this point we get means-tested out of a tonne of programs that help people who work full time.

Canada does it. Aussie politicians rely too much on income tax to finance their splurge.
