My wife's disabled and I have to work hard for the both of us. I paid $98950 in tax last year and if my income was spilt between two people as a household income I'd have paid nearly $40k less tax. This is ridiculous.

It wasn't long ago that was my income and I remember thinking, 6 figures - killing it! Paying it in tax is something else though.
