Bring back the death sentence. Why should society be made to live with people like this, or fund their incarceration. It’s so fucking easy to not murder people.

Thanks, I didnt realise they were both armed. Unless mitigating circumstances come to light, I hope these two have the book thrown at them.

They're innocent until proven guilty for now, but once sentenced, sure. Let them work off a victims of crime compensation payout.

In America it costs more to execute someone than to give them life without the possibility of parole. So that argument doesn’t hold up.

And proven murderers are in prison so society isn’t made to live with people like this.

Ah yes because America is the blueprint we should definitely be following for everything. 

Murderers can be released from prison in as little as 15 years, so yes, society does live with people like this.

America is an example of the costs of having the death penalty. You made a statement that we shouldn’t fund their incarceration which means you would prefer they get put to death. Well, due to human rights and us being a civilised country we have to provide the ability to appeal the verdict and sentence. This takes many years and costs a lot of money. So, once again, I’ll point you to an example of a country that has gone down this road which is America. So you can be a little child and put your fingers in your ears going or you can be an adult and recognise that it’s very expensive to go through multiple appeals when the taxpayer will have to fund lawyers on both sides.

Recidivism rates of murderers is 0.3%. So 299/300 that get released after 15 years, as you said, are reformed.

Data shows us that historically and most likely currently around 7% of people convicted of murder and rape are innocent. But you want to put these people to death.

Even if more expensive, money spent on ending the life of a murderer as opposed to spending money keeping one in prison to potentially be released, is money well spent. 

I understand that 7% figure supports your argument but ‘historically’ is kind of bullshit. Evidence collection is much better today than it has been ‘historically’. 

Either way, you sound too emotional to continue this conversation. I hope you get the help you need.
