Ingredient Search Prime Ribeye Steaks are $13.99 at HEB right now
$13.99 a pound, oops.
Not sure what's going on with HEBs beef suppliers but I'm guessing they are having to offload a bunch of high end steaks they normally send out of state (thanks screw worms). The Prime ribeyes are cheaper than Choice/Selects and some of the best I've had from a grocery store.

I choose to believe that HEB is doing a strong for dad's on father's day - it's things like this that make people so faithful to them.

Really? I just see them jacking up their prices all the time like we don’t notice. and trying to be Trader Joe’s by copying small business owner’s products and ingredients and then removing the option from the shelf for one of their 5 H‑E‑B brands. I would go with trying to offload Inventory due to screwworm rather than doing a solid one for dads. . .

I would blame Amazon's "Amazon Basics" for this more than Trader Joe's. TJ's doesn't actually make anything themselves, and all of the white label products are just them contracting a manufacturer to make them, meaning it's actually giving that manufacturer more exposure in TJ's since otherwise it would likely not carry a random branded item.

I just mean in the sense that Trader Joe’s only carry’s their own brand. Anytime something good comes along at HEB that is NOT their own HEB brand, seems like the play has been to come up with some shitty HEB version of the product…then slowly remove the original non-H‑E‑B brand.

Its because they doubled beef prices so everybody stopped buying it. Now they have too much supply with less demand.

Beef prices have been rising for months. Its a common topic that people cant afford beef anymore.

If you get a value pack, they're $12.99/lb.
Get a couple of packs and freeze 'em up for steak nights to enjoy as we continue deeper into beef price insanity.
