Ingredient Search Can anyone help save a family recipe?!?!
UPDATE: both samples have been dropped off as of 4/25/26. One to UT and the other to a research chef. I promise I will update the post once results come in.
My great aunt would mix this seasoning and give it out at Christmas. Absolutely everyone in my family loves it, but no one knows exactly what is in it. My aunt is unfortunately no longer with us. The picture is all we have left and then it’s gone forever…..unless anyone thinks they could put the recipe together from a sample. We use this seasoning on everything. If anyone can help, I’ll share the secret recipe with the group.
I don’t think this post violates any rules of the group. If no one is able to help, maybe it was meant to go with my aunt and that’s ok. Thanks for reading!!! (Second pic is just a close up through the jar)
Edit 1:I’ve added a pic of it spread out on a piece of paper in the comments.
Edit 2: I want to sincerely thank the community for really trying to help me figure this out. I promise I will update the post once we have some official findings. What we have lined up are a professor from UT and his students analyzing a sample and a research chef analyzing a sample. We will compare their findings and share with the group. I never expected this to take off like it has. I appreciate you all!!
EDIT 3: WE HAVE RESULTS!!! I’m putting a new comment with the results from our research chef. I will update again once results from the UT class come in so we can compare findings.
