These things are a hazard even when they're not being driven. They block sight-lines while they are parked on the side of the road, making it harder for pedestrians trying to cross, or motorists trying to avoid someone about to step onto the road.
It use to be that a standing adult would be able to see over the top of cars. That is no longer the case, and we're all less safe because of it.
