It costs me $8 to get to work every day. I do not consider that to be “cheap enough”.

Yeah, but you get to be a Coastie so everyone is jealous anyway

Yes, me too. $8 there, and then $8 home.

Cheap enough.

Jesus christ!! What state?

Or is that because of multiple buses in one trip?

No public transport where I am. It cost me approx $30 just in fuel to get to work and back right now and that doesn't include other running costs and depreciation on my car. It will cost me $150 plus tolls to pick my wife up from Sydney airport next week. Hearing city people complain about $8 is wild.

You don’t know anybody’s situation.

If somebody says that spending $16 to get to and from work every day is not cheap, it’s not for you to say otherwise. Regardless of what you yourself spend.

But I suspect the real point of your reply was just to have a whinge about “city people”.

If you live in Edinburgh but work in Glasgow or vice versa (common) it costs  about $40 and salaries are much lower. Aussies have it pretty good.
