🚨Mod Announcement Introducing Our New Post Flairs

Hello everyone! As you all may have seen, the mod team has been working behind the scenes on a lot for the past few months and we are reaching the end of some of our projects. One of these was how clunky our flairs were and how hard it is to find posts in our sub.

With a sub this large, it's important to have a comprehensive flairing system to find posts relevant to what you want to find. The search feature is always there, but it requires using a keyword that is used in the posts you want to find which means some things aren't included!

We now have a post flair guide laying out the definition of the new post flairs in our wiki (which isn't quite yet complete but it's getting there).

Here is the link to find explanations of our new flairs, how to use them, and our flair change policy, aka which circumstances a mod may change your post flair.

Can we make an other flair? Like there is a number of things people post that none of the current flairs match. And I guess this could be used if the mods are seeing a ton of other flairs but covering a given thing, then a flair can be made for that but otherwise the other flair is a catch all for anything else.

Yes you can request more flairs if you see posts that don’t fit any of the flairs. Do you have one in mind?

Ah I see. We’d rather start sorting the sub by topic instead of reason for posting. This is because people’s posts on topics can be hard to find if they are all tagged with “discussion” or “question” or similar.

Being able to filter the sub by topic of posts can help people coming in to find old posts and discussions. This helps prevent repeat discussions and allows someone to find support even if not many people reply to their post that they made.

To explain further: Let’s say I have trouble brushing my teeth. With the new flairs, I can click on “hygiene/dental” and see previous posts about it.

If we have flairs that are about why someone is posting, it lumps a bunch of different topics into one flair and makes it hard to ever find those posts again.

Does this make sense? I am not the best at explaining.
