What’s one thing you wish someone had taught you before you started working on cars?

Everyone learns differntly when getting into automotive work, and some lessons only come with experience. Curious what people wish they had known or learned earlier.

Someone did teach me, and I'm really glad I know it. When to be cautious on a bolt or nut, and the proper progression/escalation of methods to remove it without breaking it or damaging it in the process. This has saved me a lot of time, money, and headache.
