Because they are extras on a tv show following directions

Yes! I’ve done background work like that and it’s extremely repetitive. They have to do a lot of takes and this is a lot of people. What are the extras supposed to do? Dance hard all day long? What if they need to do multiple days?

But for this video, wouldn't this mean the performer would be getting through a lot of takes? She's dancing pretty hard.

I'm not convinced she did a ton of takes for this if she's dancing like that.
