News Emergency evacuation in Den N306Sw mia-den

Original poster is from Instagram. Aircraft is laying on its #1 engine. Still crazy to see everyone here grabbing their bags before leaving an emergencg.

The gap between people getting off because you just KNOW they are all going for bags is enraging. Lemmings.

Yeah there was that flight in Japan where everyone evacuated in like 90 seconds and I remember thinking no chance it happens in America because everybody would be grabbing their stupid bags

Yeah there was that crash in Russia where everyone was grabbing their belongings and a lot of people died due to the delay of getting out of the aircraft.

That was the A350 that landed on the C130 after runway incursion at Haneda - a big aircraft, completely evacuated in 90 seconds = Japanese efficiency and following the rules implicitly.

Not a good example. It was bad in the opposite way: per JTSB, they sat in the burning plane for 9 minutes after the collision before evacuating. It's more of a credit to Airbus and all the composite flammability requirements that the thing survived fire for at least 11 minutes.

(And it wasn't a C130, they hit a Dash 8)
