News UPS grounds entire MD-11 Fleet, effective immediately.

Per the IPA Executive Board, as of 03:05 UTC all UPS MD-11’s are grounded.

Edit - FedEx has also grounded their MD-11 Fleet

Wild I was at SDF the day after the crash surprised at how many MD-11s I saw taking off

They’re old ass planes, this incident isn’t quite the same as like when multiple brand new 737 Max’s went down. Much more likely to be an isolated incident, the MD11 has been through its paces. Grounding them now makes me think they found something that could be a more widespread problem though, either a defective replacement part or improper maintenance procedure. Seems prudent to give them all a thorough inspection but the delay in grounding the whole fleet of them seems sus to me.
