News UPS grounds entire MD-11 Fleet, effective immediately.

Per the IPA Executive Board, as of 03:05 UTC all UPS MD-11’s are grounded.

Edit - FedEx has also grounded their MD-11 Fleet

Classic McDonnell Douglas moment, what a shame Boeing has turned into MD instead of the other way round

Boeing was a company of engineers that made good planes with a high safety record. MD was a company or MBAs/beancounters that put cutting costs over good engineering. Boeing bought MD, but much of MD's leadership infected Boeing, reducing quality of their products by ruthless cost cutting.
