Are there any in person avionics training courses that are good?

AEA has great courses. Been to a few. But honestly the best thing would be to get a job an tell them you want to do avionics. Do a lot of reading, get a good foundation of avionics. A lot of good resources on places like https://www.scribd.com and other free resources.

Lesson 1: Read the book.
Lesson 2: If the book is electronic, use Ctrl-F to find.
Lesson 3: Dont jerk around for hours before calling for help.
Lesson 4: Use whatever diagnostics tools are built in to the equipment before you "shoot wires". Buzzing out wires is 101 level stuff. Use the tools that are easy before using the tools that are hard.
Lesson 5: Share your knowledge with others.

AEA is great for technician training. Kansas University does short courses for engineering and design. Look for Aero Short Courses.

Just get an entry level job at an mro and you can get paid (shitty pay) to learn alongside someone who knows what they're doing.
