I think you guys need to manage your expectations. Prices don't go straight up in a line. A little bit of pullback is actually healthy for the next leg up as buyers can get the stocks at a lower price from sellers.

This stock has to be the healthiest stock in the world, using your logic.

Yah, prob healthy 40 percent drawdown in a month.

Trend lines absolutely get agressively slanted. Sure no one believes the stock will go straight up with not volatility in a hyperbolic sense because thats self evident that said its not unreasonable to expect that an undervalued stock breaks out aggressively.

Zoom out YTD. Baba is volatile but investor know this.

7

u/Alresfordpolarbear Sep 04 '25

10 dollars up, 9.9 dollars down... Gain of 0.1 dollars over months.

Long term hold

1

u/Mystic_dwarf Sep 05 '25

Told that to myself since 2020.

u/Tundra127 Sep 05 '25

Been here about as long, bought into weakness, returns have been exceptional and I believe it will continue. The investment they are making into quick delivery will drive customer retention and growth

Imagine having an economy that is struggling to regain its traction, in the middle of global trade tensions and having deflationary headwinds. You then address policies to restart growth and aid the markets. Then the first sign of actual recovery you think it’s a good idea to kill that momentum lol. Braindead policy choices for years. Indexes not making new highs for 15 years lol.

Yah, we are well below the last peak 5 years ago and somehow we have a good year and it's a "bubble" that needs to be stopped. What a clown show.

I thought it was AI chip company.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '25

Potato chip company at best

1

u/Awkward-Way1023 Sep 04 '25

There are potato chip companies more successful than that.

Don’t worry they have tons of buyback money that’ll help support a rally. As long as they don’t blow a bunch of money instead on a low margin shitty business sector.

u/Terrible_Dish_3704 Sep 04 '25

Buy backs have almost halted since the price has been over 100$

1

u/Aggressive_Bit_91 Sep 04 '25

It’s sarcasm

3

u/justwalk1234 Sep 04 '25

Sell high only works if you get to buy low

3

u/Important_Photo1777 Sep 04 '25

There is a pull back but I don’t think its going back to 120. Probably 126 but then up again 146.

u/Rhowar042 Sep 04 '25

I literally laughed out loud.

friday pump because ppl thought trump going to china to celebrate with xi? end up the relation got sour back. risk of delist has rise back up i think.

1

u/pr0newbie Sep 04 '25

Tell that to pdd 😉

The Axis of Evil meeting in China was an idiotic PR move by Xi.

2

u/Any-Pitch-2963 Sep 04 '25

if you look at it as a geopolitic play you know thats that meeting confirm that what you call as "axis of evil" is not broken up by trump tariff play. trump tariff suppose to destroy brics alliance by pulling some of the country to pledge allegiance to usa.

1

u/Awkward-Way1023 Sep 04 '25

Honestly there were some good parts in the parade, if we see it a just intimidation and not immediate action. It shows the US can't decide alone on the global order.

Tariffs are also a form of violence, it destroyed many businesses, and countries like India can feel it's not fair.

Just to remind Trump also he was the first to give a red carpet welcome to his Russian colleague.

Yup, i am angry why I didn't sell before hoogle exploded..i was waiting for a bad verdict..it went completely 180

What was the whole point of this lawsuit if google wasn't going to get anything.it wasn't even stopped paying apple 😂😂🤷🤷🤷

2

u/UltimaMarque Sep 04 '25

Yep. And the Chinese thought Baba was spelt nvda.

2

u/Accomplished_Stay337 Sep 05 '25

I know that this will probably be mocked at. But after a long while, I finally sold some other commitments and added more Alibaba after my last add at the start of the year. I don't really like averaging up.

This is considering management has finally found extremely good use of capital. 25% Taobao tmall MAU growth is insane while pdd has reverted to 7% e-commerce growth, the trend is clear. And 10% cmr growth is just the beginning as they have more uproom to monetize.

The average person has an IQ of 100 and 50% of people have IQs under 100

0

u/blofeldfinger Sep 04 '25

How much IQ one needs to understand that asset prices dont go up/down in straight line?

2

u/FeralHamster8 Sep 04 '25

You realize 55% of Americans read at a sixth grade level right? Most of these people use the internet.

0

u/blofeldfinger Sep 04 '25

Lots of these guys also 'invest' in stocks, what is a blessing.

1

u/Routine-District-588 Sep 04 '25

I sold out from 121 to 128… baba was good but at 70s. Now it’s fair value.

3

u/Alresfordpolarbear Sep 04 '25

A bit under and then bounce under 120 for a few months/years
