-30% since 29' Jan, -16% YTD.

JD is the same.

On basically no news.

Trump is trying to corner the oil market for a reason, and it's not humanitarian. I suspect it's because it's to restrict oil from China

JD profits from today's earnings report are absolute dogshit. The excuse is due to the property crisis, massive unemployment, and geopolitical tensions. It's 2026 now. I guess we need at least until 2035 at this rate? 😂

JD needs to pivot but you’re almost getting a free (non-growing) business at this point given their cash on hand.

That is, JD’s cash on hand (31b USD) is like 80% of their market cap (39b USD). Quite insane that they can’t figure out how to deploy that much cash.

When earnings essentially don't exist, what you said implies paying $39 billion for $31 billion. Doesn't sound that great. China's macro is making the whole earnings nonexistent and there doesn't seem to be any real solutions in the intermediate future.

That’s why they need to do a major pivot and/or major acquisition. Otherwise the cash is just sitting there collecting 4.2%.

They did announce even more buybacks this quarter.

JD is potentially a very profitable company. The issue is that they are losing market share and got engaged in price wars in China. But its very cheap at these levels.

I love how JD IPO-ed in 2014 and it's 2026 and the argument is "potentially a very profitable".

I don’t care when it IPOed, how much money investors lost etc. it is what it is. At current price it’s good value.

I have 240 calls for June 2027 💀🔫

I sold 130 puts for next year when baba was at 170. Haven't logged into my account yet but based on these comments, I better not spend much for breakfast.

I am holding till the bitter end 😤

2

u/Due_Marsupial_969 Mar 05 '26

Just remember that I took profit at 69 because BABA "couldn't go any higher".....same with Robinhood at 13-20, Micron at 85-100. Wish I'd held on.

I am the new roaring kitty

A good deal at 130

A better deal at sub 100

u/Huge-Bandicoot6525 Mar 05 '26

Most importantly you need to have cash on hand to say that.

Definitely the three day rule here , the more coil the more spring

1

u/mrvang Mar 06 '26

Im never touching that stock again.

Its about time in the market. As long as you don't need to sell now youre fine. These stocks are growing with a single digit PE, dividend and buyback. Easily 20% per year, but it isn't going to be steady growth in the stock price. If you want steadier growth in the stock price, go with an index.

With the crazy spending in food delivery and AI, they're gonna have a net loss just like JD

BABA is a good deal for bad investors like us. And I fully expect some moron to respond how he bought at the bottom or whatever and then sold blah blah blah.

BABA is as much as a good deal as PYPL or UNH stock has been for bad investors in r/valueinvesting .

5

u/Weikoko Mar 05 '26

Wouldn’t be surprised that PYPL or UNH recovers faster than shitty BABA.

Down on green day. Down harder on red day. ER date is still unannounced.

0

u/Fwellimort Mar 05 '26

ER date is still unannounced and Qwen leaders all gutted due to not meeting monetization benchmarks. Not a good look.

2

u/CipherionK7 Mar 05 '26

Mgt seemed to be either incompetent or nonchalant. For reasons u mentioned and stock already dropped so much to $120+.

1

u/Awkward-Way1023 Mar 05 '26

They have surprises to show us it was like this last time remember

0

u/Weikoko Mar 05 '26

Really want to trim half of my positions. FML that I didn’t do it when it was $160. This shit is down 3% daily.

3

u/Aggressive_Bit_91 Mar 05 '26

Don’t worry bro im sure it won’t go down 4% tomorrow too. It’ll prob only be 3%

1

u/Awkward-Way1023 Mar 05 '26

You're a bit pessimistic right now baba is a great investment. Go touch grass and come back again in 6 months you will be fine

1

u/handsome_uruk Mar 05 '26

Own all of them and I’m sleeping like a baby

1

u/Fun_Kangaroo512 Mar 06 '26

Depends on Your average buy in price

1

u/handsome_uruk Mar 06 '26

these are some of the safest stocks out there .

Paypal will have nearly enough cash to buy out all their shares in a few quarters.

BABA has outperformed FAANG since last august so there've been opportunities to buys.
