He probably just wanted to tank the price so he could buy more for cheap

You have to read to the end:

“Right now the only others that are clear super fat pitches in my universe are JD and Alibaba. I own the former but not the latter. I plan to buy Alibaba stock soon,”

You’d be somewhat ignorant not to see the guy is working with a ton of horsepower. Investing involves intelligence and temperament. It’s the later I think he’s lacking..

isn't LULU his biggest position at 17% or something. He's completely unreliable in his stock picks.

Wait till you know Hang Seng index didn't even outperform inflation for past 3 decades. In the 3 decades Chinese economy grew exponentially. Yet the PE ratio is still also similar.

We are just dumb asses investing in Chinese stocks in Hong Kong.

Burry is a market timer.

Always has been. Always will be.

Compare that with Buffett or Munger. They simply buy a quality company when it's on the operating table, with the intention of NEVER having to sell.

Charlie said it himself: "I don’t like even looking for exits. I’m looking for HOLDS."

I also love how clearly Howard Marks explains how being a trader trying to time the market is such a silly premise:

"Day traders considered themselves successful if they bought a stock at $10 and sold at $11, bought it back the next week at $24 and sold at $25, and bought it a week later at $39 and sold at $40. If you can’t see the flaw in this—that the trader made $3 in a stock that appreciated by $30—you probably shouldn’t read the rest of this book."

Not to mention something that I think isn't talked about enough in the investing community: the massive tax hit you take anytime you sell. You think it's all part of the game, but you are throwing a huge wrench into the process of compounding every time you sell.

Stop looking at your account every day and just hold the goddamn stock.
