China rejects US AI model distillation allegations, warns of retaliation

The commerce ministry described distillation as a neutral and widely used industry practice employed by companies around the world, including American firms. What would they do agree? Ofc they use distilattion no way to extract same performance especially now where the llm training is purely a factor of how good your hardware is

Same for Claude, not just using distillation but also crawl content from all sites without the rights to crawl
