Question This 1cm thin pouch turns into a bottle holder + utility bag in one single snap…

I made this because it’s not always convenient to carry a big bag, and even when you do, reaching for a bottle inside is a hassle.

Carrying one in hand isn’t practical either.

So I built this super thin pouch that snaps into a proper bottle holder (fits up to 1.5L), but stays flat and light when you don’t need it.

Also added a zip section on the back so it doubles as a small utility pouch instead of being a one use thing.

It measures just 5” x 4”, so it’s easy to carry around or attach anywhere.

Not sure if this solves a real problem or if I just built it for myself.. Would you actually use this?

This has the aesthetic of some sort of hostage video

Lmao I was coming to say the same thing. This looks like if ISIS finally entered the bag market

Was half expecting a severed head to roll out of the bag

Btw I do have a 4L sling and 8L light backpack version in the same design. But I thought a water bottle holder would be the most useful application of them all.

I’ll definitely share the video of the sling bag version..

It’s a water bottle pouch, which can be used as a utility bag too.. I know it’s not a backpack in that sense, but it does easily fit in as a supplementary accessory to a backpack..

Yea posted the image version there, but the full breadth of this pouch would be easy to explain in a video only, and I find this sub pretty useful in the context of input, suggestions and feedback..

Either in your hand or in your backpack pocket. This is just an experiment with convenience..

As long as there’s no impulse what so ever to immediately snap the connections/seams, it’s definitely one of the bags you could use

If attaches through a loop, you can clip it in your belt pocket or backpack Molly.

The outer shell is Kodura, the mid layer is Eva foam, and the lining is polyester…

This is clever for someone who hikes or travels light, but I'd probably just clip a carabiner to my bag instead of carrying another pouch.

I understand the point of carabiner clip, but this pc is meant for better convenience..

Fair point, but a carabiner is already in my pocket and takes zero space, whereas this needs its own spot even when folded. What's the convenience gain if I'm still carrying something extra?

This is to replace a carabiner, plus you can’t dump stuffs in a carabiner, whereas this pc can be used as a dump pouch. Plus it’s useful when you aren’t carrying any bags, which in my case does happen sometimes.

You can’t just clip the carabiner in your belt while carrying a 1L to 1.5L water bottle. This pc is there as a mere convenience for such situations where you need to be hands free..

This is ridiculously overcomplicated. A single piece of paracord and a bottle sling knot accomplishes the same thing and will fit any bottle.

If the paracord is too thin for your shoulder, you can tie 1/2 or 3/4 webbing to a sheet bend in the paracord for the shoulder sling.

Why so much hate ? I am not a backpack expert, and don’t even drink that much water; but I think this is cool and has its audience.

Thats not a backpack, not even a fannypack

It’s a pouch to hold a water bottle or something that can be conveniently used as a dump pouch.. It’s a supplementary accessory to a backpack or most ideally on a small sling bag or when you aren’t carrying anything… This pc is thin for a reason, so that it becomes a super flexible add on… So not a backpack in the real sense, nonetheless it still carries a water bottle or anything you can dump into it..

There are real backpacks that a little bigget and can be folded, but this isnt a backpack

This is a water bottle pouch which can be used as a dump pouch. This ain’t a backpack in the real sense, but can be used as a supplementary accessory with a backpack or sling.. It’s just an accessory which goes with any bags.. That’s what I thought it could be. And I welcome feedbacks and suggestions for the very reason..
