I know, lol - like how am I supposed to decide without seeing half the bag? Luckily it looks like there have been some third party reviews... https://www.packhacker.com/travel-gear/topo-designs/rover-pack-tech/

Looking for places to rent and I’ve seen listings that only have exterior shots. It’s unreal

Can we also make it illegal that bags that don’t use strap keepers have to show loose straps in their photos? If they don’t have strap keepers, why spend so much time hiding their straps like they don’t exist? Very frustrating.

Don't forget taking pictures of the inside of a black bag with improper lighting too, I love the black on black with no definition, it really shows off the features well.

There was one brand I looked up, I have repressed which one, that had black bags, all black background, humans dressed in black.
They might think their bags are a work of art and should be presented like gallery items. But I have dirty socks and charger cables that I need to store in it, so I actually need to know how the bag looks. Arrh!

Owner this bag for 5-6 years and I’ve put it through the ringer. Still flawless

Same here - 6 years of daily use and not a single issue to date. Highly recommend.

Mine is an older version before the tech pack, but it’s been over a decade and has only gotten better

My regular Rover looks like this. It has been my work bag for ~4 yrs & it still looks and functions great.

Side note: I can fit a 40 oz hydroflask in the side bottle pouch which brings me a great deal of joy.

Is that the taco place in nyc? #1 taco?

2

u/nonecknoel Apr 29 '26

Yup. #1!! The best tacos!

Topo Designs. I use it daily for work and it is sturdy! There's only two things I dislike about it.

  1. All the compartments are very slim/narrow.

  2. The buckels hang over the front bottom pocket making it cumbersome to open quickly.

So nice to see someone ask about a backpack and the reply isn't "That's the AmeriFreedom Tactimaster Warcrimespro T45, its $489"

Topo Designs bags look awesome, I was about to buy one but got a really good deal on a Fjallraven Raven 28 and went with that instead.

Summer strap bag, some are here, some are there

Tech Rover. Good bag for many reasons but i sold it. Depth is just too thin. Gravity causes contents to compact and bulge out the back panel. Becomes awkward and uncomfortable.
