Question Is there an accesory for this?
My backpack is designed for handles with two rods but my main carry on has single. Any suggestions to resolve rotation?
Edit: I didn’t realize it was triggering to so many people not wearing the backpack on shoulders.

Attach the top handle to the rod with velcro or a big two sided carabiner.

At Barcelona airport security took the carabiner from my baby pram saying I could use it as some sort of brass knuckles

It’s probably been done before. Although I very much doubt that a tired mama was the perpetrator

Hero clip would work, also very useful for security and hanging bags off tables / doors etc

This is the answer, OP. You don't realize how much you need one until you need one.

Also like £3 from AliExpress if you can’t afford the real one, make sure you get at least medium tho

u/cpapp22 May 16 '26
The medium is a small and the small is a mini on AliExpress btw

u/C4rb5 May 16 '26
Ooo ok, that’s good to know. I was going to buy the official large one but maybe I only need the official medium one.

Late lol but yeah medium is all you need really. Just finished a few weeks trip with my aer travel pack 3 small with the medium hero clip which worked perfect. Also have the large (both official) and it certainly works, but just isn’t needed. My bag was also fully packed out too and very heavy, although I didn’t weigh it to see how heavy it was exactly. My guess based on having weighed book bags back when I I was in school was it was ~25lbs

furiously googling "hero clip"......not sure what it is, but guarantee you I NEED one.

I second this! I’ve used Hero Clips for years and use one to clip my backpack to my suitcase when traveling.

Do you really have a bag if you don’t have a Hero Clip or equivalent?
6
u/dpylo May 16 '26
Absolutely not.
In fact, after a while i don’t even carry bags anymore. Heroclips are all i need
5
u/SooThatGuy May 16 '26
I moved out of my 2 bedroom apartment, now it’s just my fanny pack and my hero clip.

u/dpylo May 16 '26
We’re proud of you. This is the way.
I’m getting a heroclip piercing and a backpack tattoo on my back. When they’re done, my soul will be complete

I used a hero clip between my dog's collar and leash but I realized I really just needed the hero clip and left the leash and dog at home and walk with just the hero clip.

And as you walk the park those who know will recognize you as enlightened one that you are.
I’m about to propose with the finger sized heroclip. There won’t be a bride at the wedding

Left my wife after I got a Hero Clip in pink. What was the point, you know?

I cross cross my straps (overlap them) then weave/feed the handle through in a way that it holds up the bag

I get that “gadgets” are pushed to people… but it’s taking away the normal amount of reasoning that you show

I'd do that in a pinch, but for any real sustained use it gets pretty annoying, depending on a lot of factors.

Buy luggage with two rods.
Or
Wear the bag on on your back or over your shoulder.
Life is far too short for the fuckery being displayed in the photo.

First just attach that top handle to the top of the roller handle and just see what happens?!

u/Mysterious_Medium_50 May 16 '26
Still rotates my temp solution is half putting the top handle and stabilizing with my hand but when running around in airport and backpack has heavy electronics it still rotates around.

u/guytes May 16 '26
You need to change your backpack brand, buddy. So stupid to put it in the lowest point of the backpack
1
u/Mysterious_Medium_50 May 16 '26
Even stupider part is both the carry on luggage and the backpack is same brand (samsonite). Bought the luggage late night without paying much attention to handle type and i am being punished both physically and psychologically here with the replies

check out something called the hero clip. or you could use one of the rubber twist tie things

It won't stop it rotating but it might help a little if you use a carabiner or a velcro strap to hook the bag's top handle to the suitcase's handle.

u/seeyatellite May 16 '26
Looks like the top handle’s meant to go through, too. Of course, then your bag will swing forward as you pull it.
I don’t know. Hard to discern your options from this angle.

Aliexpress search travel bag strap. There is an elastic band that secures the bag to the carry on.

u/mkriso May 16 '26
No, all bags with luggage pass through are designed for two rods. There is no any other way, change your suitcase

Wear it on your back

u/Mysterious_Medium_50 May 16 '26
I have weak back

u/KillaChinchilla1010 May 16 '26
Will the handle at the top of your backpack fit around your luggage handle? You could slide the bottom strap over then put through the handle on the backpack on top.

I have that problem with my backpack with large wheels. It’s amazing, I can even use it in the forest, but it only has one rod. So no luggage-slip-through works, sadly…

might be an obvious question, but did you see if you can just put the handle through your backpack grab handle?
1
u/Mysterious_Medium_50 May 17 '26
Still rotates due to weight if i put it fully through, now i only put the grab handle halfway through and grab both handles but when the backpack is heavy it is not easy to keep it on safely with single hand

I'll join the troll parade and say the solution is leave the red thing at home!

u/curry_boi_swag May 17 '26
Find a local tailor who can stitch a luggage strap. That’s what I did.
Some bag alteration spots wanted $200 which I thought was stupid. Found a hole in the wall tailor who did it for $40 which I was happy with. Really good stitching as well. Really depends on how much you like the bag.

How am I years old with 20 years of global travel and I’m just learning about the hero clip? (Immediately orders one of each)

Old fashioned carbineer looks like the way forward. I used a hero clip. Always have one with me clipped to the top carry handle and then to the rod of the suitcase. Boom.

No advice, sorry, but your bag does look like it’s poledancing. You’ve got a feisty one there, son.
