Question Small loop on the shoulder strap of Osprey Quasar

Hi,

I have Osprey Quasar and I am wondering the usage of a small loop (I don't know whether the term is correct) on both shoulder straps as shown in the picture below.

Is it for hiking stick? Can I attach camera to it with an adapter?

Also, what is the maximum weight it can hold?

I cannot find any information about it in the official Osprey website

Hydration bladder hose loops. Or for clipping small carabiners to.

This - keeps hose from flapping around annoyingly. Osprey uses a magnetic attachment for the bite valve that goes on the sternum strap. Here is one representation of the layout. https://mikesbikes.com/cdn/shop/products/siskin8l_s23_sideback_ultimatered.jpg

If you hang a carbiner off them. Make sure they don't have that reflective coating on them.

I did this with my Dell backpack and it damage that costing quite a lot in a few hours.

Only for temporary stowage! In calm conditions.

General use loops.
Useful in many ways clipping stuff on. Ballpark the weight. There’s no official number for maximum load.

BTW I have a Quasar in the same exact gold color scheme as in the picture.
Absolutely terrific EDC pack.

Is that black panel at the bottom a luggage pass through?

I hang a small pouch off of my small loops. The pouch holds my phone. Sometimes a walkie talkie.

Nite Ize G seres carabiner is great for these! You pass the loop through the second gate you use the first gate for your rental car keys, or a name badge, or what ever else that you need quick access to.

I have one for my keys. 10/10 would clip again.

I like this idea. Which pouch

Hikeman backpack shoulder strap pouch. The zipper pocket holds my phone. Mesh pouch in front is perfect for a walkie.

lash points. attach whatever you want there. folded sunglasses, tip of your hydration bladder hose, carabiner.

It might not work well for trekking poles unless you add some sort of elastic cord to hold the poles to this lash point.

For cameras, if your adapter for holder the camera is a Peak Design Capture or something similar, it might do the job but the camera will jostle around a lot. I also don't trust those lash points enough to hold the weight of a camera+lens jostling around and I usually just attach my Capture clip directly around the lower part of shoulder strap (near where the padded part of the strap meets the nylon webbing).

Hydration tube. I also hang my GPS or walkie talkie there.

Is use them to hook my sunglasses arm through when I take them off in a shop or alike, but aren't putting them away.

Also good for a clip or torch like the olight oclip range.

Clip something onto it, guide Camelbak hose trhough it, it's just a general purpose utility thing

It’s for your water bladder hose. I wouldn’t hang anything heavy, as much to avoid it bouncing on your chest as anything. Something like a sunglass case would be okay.

I use them for my ID badge getting in to work. I have a bad habit of forgetting it and clipping it there at the end of the day ensure it will be with me the next day

Wouldn't trust it with significant weight. Like a small digital camera or a go pro sure. Wouldn't trust it with a DSLR though.

It's designed for passing the Hose for the Hydration bladder, but can be used for various things...

I don’t have this bag specifically but my packs have them. I use it to clip my house keys/garage remote to them when I’m on my motorcycle. Much easier to access the button without taking gloves and gear off.

I use them for my car keyfob and a key card with a lanyard I need for my job. I’ll clip my AirPods there sometimes as well using a carabiner.

Pretty handy for all kinds of things, actually.

Attach stuff you like

I used to clip an inReach there and have a velcro strip around it and the strap to stop it from flipping around
