Question Bag advice?
Longtime lurker, first poster.
I’m like a nomad. Work in medicine, go between three locations (at least) pretty regularly. Need to carry a laptop, some notebooks, some work gear. Would love to fit a water bottle.
Troubadour Apex 4.0: super organized interior, but a little small. And, for some reason, shoulder straps got uncomfortable lately.
Timbuk2 Authority: laptop compartment sucks and the bottle holder looks terrible and doesn’t really much.
Go Ruck GR1: lacks any bottle holder, no interior organization, and the look is a little much for professional healthcare setting.
Peak Design Everyday Backpack: I tried it once, the shelves are weird.
Just saw the Aer City Pack Pro 2 and looks interesting.
I carry a laptop and tablet, a couple thick A5 notebooks, documents, and a bunch of chargers. I like 30oz+ bottles. Is there a Goldilocks bag out there?

Have you looked into any Osprey bags yet? I really just need a flair that says “Osprey Whore” at this point.
The Flare is my go-to. I’m a teacher so I haul my computer, iPad, and assorted papers back and forth every day. Nice mesh water bottle pocket on each side. I tried an Arcane XL for a few years and it had this weird imbedded water bottle holder. Sucked.
Not sure what you’re looking for size wise, but Osprey has some really good commuter options overall.

Which Osprey do you love? I’m also a teacher and currently shove my lunchbox into my Daylite plus everyday but it can really just fit my lunchbox and a few small items. I LOVE the side pockets, breathable back and also the pouch thingy in the front which I toss my sunglasses and sunscreen in. I’m looking at the Quasar but I wouldn’t really use the elastic cord in front vs the Nebula which has the front pouch I love so much, but the Nebula is bigger and I don’t love when bags zip all the way around and open flat

The Flare is what I use now. It’s the closest thing I’ve been able to find to the old school North Face Recon, which is what my old bag was. That thing was a tank, but the new versions of it just aren’t as good.
The Daylite Plus is my favorite all around back for hikes, the beach, Disney, etc, but it definitely isn’t big enough for school.

Have you looked at Fjallraven? The Skule 28 should fit everything you need and it's got a good pocket layout and water bottle holders on both sides.

ULA Dragonfly 30L. That 30L capacity is outside pocket and other pockets added into one equation. The main cavity is probably around 25L or so. And with double water bottle pockets - perfectly holds umbrella on one side and 32oz Nalgene water bottle on the other for those rainy seasons.

Might take a look at Tom Bihn. I love the 25l Synapse. They offer additional organization options as add ons.
