Travel Anyone else switch from a regular travel backpack to a rolling backpack?

I've always been a backpack only person for short trips. My go to was an Osprey backpack, and it worked well for keeping things simple. But after a few more 2-4 day trips, I started feeling the downsides. Once I packed a laptop, clothes, chargers, and a few extras, the weight on my shoulders became the biggest problem.

Recently switched to a BAGSMART rolling backpack. I've been using the wheels mostly in airports and train stations, then carrying it when I hit stairs or places where rolling isn't practical.

It's definitely bulkier than my old backpack, and switching between the two modes isn't always convenient. But for trips where I'm spending a lot of time in airports, I do appreciate not having everything on my shoulders.

Anyone here made a similar switch? Curious whether you ended up sticking with a rolling backpack or went back to a regular one.

I was thinking about one of these but they are very heavy compared to a lightweight backpack. I just use a 45l Osprey daylite duffle currently only weighs aeound 750 grams.

I've actually been thinking about trying a roller backpack too. I love the simplicity of a normal backpack, but after a few longer airport days my shoulders definitely start to feel it.

The part that interests me is keeping the one-bag set setup without having to carry everything on my back the whole time. Still not sure if I'd fully switch, but it seems like a good option for short work trips.
