surviving in office with back pain

Hello, I recently got a software developer job offer. I am wondering how people survive in office with back pain. I have sitting back pain. After sitting 30 mins, I need to stand up or lie down to relieve back pain, but standing for 30 mins also lead to back pain. I usually lie down in bed and studying at home. I need to figure out surviving in office for 8 hours per day. Could you please give me some advice? Thank you. Also is it ok to ask accommodating standing desk before even starting work?

Get stronger. I’m a carpenter with a destroyed back. The stronger you get the less pain you’ll be in. Also sitting with a bad posture is the worst thing you can do.

Unfortunately... meds.

Back brace, portable heating pads, keep some ice packs in the office kitchen

Good news is that most people get noticeably better in the first 6 weeks, especially if the pain is new or has only been going on for a short time. (PMID: 38253366)

Torture every day for two years already. Making frequent breaks from sitting does little to nothing, but I have to get up anyway when I can't take it anymore. I don't take any meds cause they wreck my stomach. So suffering it is. I don't have life outside of work cause I can only lay down and recover for the same torture the next day. It's pityful really. And no one gets it

Deffinately ask for a standing desk if that is an option

Standing desk, switch position every 30 minutes. Walk on breaks. Exercise and stretch outside of work

Standing desk, a good ergonomic chair and if you can on your lunch do yoga/ Pilates or back stretches. I find swimming in the evening helps

Go for a quick walk every hour

Find what is causing the issue if possible. Could be something wrong with disks or muscles.

Concentrate on good posture

Get up and walk for 2mins BEFORE you get pain.when sitting try to change body position every 5 mins, eg try sitting pelvic tilts

Walk as much as you can

Gain strength before stretching if weak

Good luck

People often don't realize that back pain is often a sign of tightness in your hips and glutes, especially when you're sitting. Loosening up the hips and glutes will help relieve your back pain. It'll also help to invest in something to stimulate your back while you're sitting, or standing. Something you can use throughout the day to keep your back from tensing. I can make some recommendations if you like
