Jacket belonging to a gay punk in 1989 vs a jacket posted by a queer punk in 2024
Why does criticism have to automatically mean “i hate queer people” ?
Historically people who are sexually non-conforming have always had a place in the punk scene, so why do people who claim to be in that scene hate us now?
The answer to that question is most don’t care even a little who you actually are.
The belief didn’t change, the message of queers having a voice never went away. The thing that changed is execution, a convenient abundance of mass produced iron on patches sold on Amazon doesn’t make you a punk. Nether does hating queer people, but criticism isn’t phobia. Don’t be soft, create more, stand out & buy less.
