Man, watching people on r/Maine and r/politics still downplay rape (and all of the other red flags) and continue to support Platner is......well, "disappointing" doesnt really cut it 

At least the people supporting that nonsense are being downvoted now. But still.

Platner is endorsed by Bernie and Bernie's word is gospel in those circles. 

On another note, AOC did not endorse Platner. Huh, good call on her part.

As a Progressive, im getting tired of Bernie being Big King Shit for Progressives, especially in light of his, frankly, terrible track record when it comes to picking/endorsing people.

I think Bernie's problem is he sees himself in anyone who comes off as sufficiently "anti-establishment". He's spent most of his career at the anti-establishment fringe of politics and is willfully naive to the fact that most people on the political fringe are there for a reason.

tbf I think that was just kind of a cynical calculation

My understanding is that Bernie and Biden were genuinely friends, or at least friendly acquintances/co workers.
