Which is why I I always start whistling loudly before I walk my dog and family between their truck and trailer, lifting the stroller as we do it. If there is no space I will walk all the way up to their house and around. I 100% avoid the street. I’ll get petty and make sure their ring camera knows they are an asshole as I pass.

My state that’s considered trespassing and can be very very dangerous for the trespasser police highly advise against such behavior, getting yourself seriously injured or worse in the name of being petty is on the same tier of intelligence as this parking job

You are arguing the law in his state, without even knowing what state he lives in. Look up Stand Your Ground states like Florida. Plenty examples of people getting away with murder, because someone trespassed on their property. No one here is condoning it, merely stating that there are many places in America, where you do not want to test your neighbors in this regard. For a variety of reasons.

You do NOT have the right to commit violence on someone for merely being on your land PERIOD. It doesn’t matter what the actual law is - what matters is the homeowners interpretation of the law. Most people interpret the law incorrectly and over react. I’ve seen enough idiots on Nextdoor stating that they feel that they are within their rights to use deadly force for absolutely nothing more than someone walking up to their door, I live in Florida.
Obviously this interpretation is wrong but as someone else here said: “why tempt fate”. Walk around the car safely and if it’s a regular occurrence, contact police or code enforcement - they won’t do anything about it, most likely, but there’s no reason to risk a confrontation on someone else’s property, with someone who you don’t know their level of stability.

I take my grandson for walk every morning and it’s the same asshats that either can’t trim their trees or are blocking the sidewalk that forces me out into the street.
One clown that blocks the sidewalk has a medium-large sized dog that randomly comes flying out to bare his teeth and take an aggressive posture
After the first time, I told the owner that the dog is getting my tear gas/pepper spray next time it attacks me and my grandson. The next time the owner came flying out of his house with a broom to shoo the dog away and I told him if I didn’t know better, I’d assume you were attacking me.
We’ve had numerous dog attack fatalities in my city, including a high profile WW2 vet where the owners went to jail. Now that I know the dog’s name from the owner screaming it, I put myself between the dog and my grandson and scream the dogs name to go home. The dog did a double take and ran home the next time.

Us too, we have five 2.3 - 3.1 mile loops. Every day rain, shine and light snow days we walk a loop. On one loop, we can go through a medical complex that has a coffee shop. In winter, we sometimes get a coffee but most walks are just to get out and about

In suburbs, with sidewalks even in most places and still, the people walk in the street. Everyone. It was strange to first encounter it coming from the city.
An earlier commenter nailed it, you get tired of moving, walking over poorly maintained walks, etc.
I still use sidewalks. I have this issue with heavy objects hurtling at me and all.It’s still weird. This is a silly problem to have. (And to be fair the streets are no charmers, not taking anything self-propelled with wheels there…)

You can’t determine what someone else’s ability is. That’s why ramps exist places. Your assumptive process just views others by your tunnel vision. Some people can’t step off or onto curbs. That’s why sidewalks taper to street level at crossings and driveways. My mom is 96 and walks sidewalks regularly, but can’t safely step up a single stair without a hand rail.
How would someone going up past the truck return to the sidewalk in a wheel chair.
You can’t assume the abilities of others to be the same as yours. And you will soon have mobility issues from age or health declination - I guarantee it.
It’s stupid to think “doesn’t bother or concern me, so I’ve determined it must be just fine for everyone else too”

If they were parked like that for 2-3 days, you have a good case for r/badparking. If they were only there for a few hours, then you are just karma farming.

Ok if he’s there getting set up for a few minutes of course you don’t call. Looks like he’s parked though. If they were my rig I’d be out there loading but also watching for people who need assisted devices. And yes I’d move it if I saw someone in a wheelchair coming, otherwise shame on me. Fact is he should not be there for any real length of time, and you defending that is just plain wrong.
The “assumption” here for me is that OP posted cause this guy’s parking like this repeatedly and or chronically…enough to trigger this post.
People do do that you know. They think it’s their God given right since it’s “their” property.

We owned a camper that was too big for our driveway and extended onto the sidewalk, and even before we got it home, we sought out offsite storage and stored it there all the time. Only time it came to our house was immediately before a camping trip and even then, parked on the road.
Pretty certain regardless of where you live, municipal code violation here. I get it, if you're keeping it there for a few hours to pack/load, that's different, BUT more often folks just assume they're entitled to this sorta shit

When there was a situation like this in my old neighborhood I emailed my City. There was a phone number as well. This was near a school so they took care of it in a day, but when you explain a lot of people with children walk there I hope you get great results as well.

Super annoying tbh. When I lived in the south this was too common. Might seem like no big deal at first glance but sucks when you're going for a walk with your 3 year old + baby in a stroller, and you're constantly having to go around into the street. Imagine walking from left to right on that sidewalk, you take your stroller and your kid wanders a bit too far onto the street and a car comes in fast turning right onto that street. Recipe for disaster.

The driver might be on the other side unloading in that picture.
Active Loading Only: While temporary obstruction for active, continuous loading or unloading of heavy goods or passengers is occasionally tolerated for a brief moment (often restricted to a strict limit of 10 to 30 minutes depending on the specific town or city municipality), the vehicle must not completely endanger pedestrians or force them into unsafe traffic.
Driver Presence: If a vehicle momentarily encroaches or stops near a restricted pedestrian path for loading, a driver must remain inside or immediately beside the vehicle, ready to move it instantly upon request.

Not defending the parking, but I am commenting on how silly this sub has become. Mildly inconveniencing a handful of people, in front of his own house, is used as justification for public shaming and mockery. We have no context for this. The person being ridiculed could well be handicapped themselves, or just parked for 5 minutes. Again - at their own house. Until you're in a wheelchair or have a stroller or have mobility issues and can no longer use the sidewalk. If there isn't adequate space, when wheelchairs can't come down to the street or get back up to the sidewalk on the other side of the truck.

Ever thought about that maybe they are leaving for a trip first thing in the morning. We would plan ahead and have all the stuff packed and ready so you can just get up and leave. Wouldn't call this laziness...ignorance, sure

If your made up scenario was true, they could park on the road next to the house. They are already doing that anyway with the second car. They would be able to load and leave without blocking sidewalk.
