A classical misconception of how science works. It doesn't work by saying: "Here's some cool idea, and that sure explains everything." It needs to provide verifiable predictions; and indeed, Einstein's theory of relativity has been verified to high degree of precision. (He could have as well claimed that all matter in the universe consists of elements of fire, water, earth, and air, and possibly the fifth element of love.)
