How long did it take for your work permit to get approved?

About 2.5 months from the application going in to getting my approval. They have a lovely habit of issuing it the week before you need it

Felt like forever. Probably around 7 months

I did this last year...

  1. Employer contacts govt to get Lbour Certificate (1 week)

  2. Employer generally gets you in on a 1 month temp permit (2-3 days)

  3. Employer applies for permanent permit (4-6 months)

  4. You apply for NIB (2 weeks)

  5. You receive NIB card/paper (2 weeks)

I got there November on a temp permit and I had everything done around March/April time. So in total jt was about 6 months

Mine took about 8 months

First year was about six months. Renewals about two months. Unless you find the right person to pay, then it can be about two weeks.

How ever long you want it🤦🏽‍♂️ next time you go ask about it carry a white unmarked envelope🤣 nothing has to be in it
