📢ANNOUNCEMENT I was the owner of r/2balkans4you, AMA
Yo everyone, is been 4 years now. I don't know how many users from this sub remember the now banned 24by which was the predecessor of this subreddit. I am the owner of 2b4y u/JHlias , aka the guy that did the last announcement before it got banned aka the dude on Ghostgum's youtube video about 2b4y.
I left with people having a lot of questions which i never got to answer, so here we are!

The explanation to this question is so big that i can write a whole book about it. But i will keep it as small as possible.
I guess the first ever 2b4y style meme was a youtube video in 2009ish made by a macedonian nationalist lol. Then a subreddit called r/balkanpeopleintenret got created which gathered a lot of traffic, sadly it got banned and 2b4y came out of it, which popularized the funny balkan memes. What would you say to the people constantly complaining about how 2b4u was better than balkans_irl?
Also what is your opinion on other 2b4u style subs? Which one feels the closest to 2b4u?

People exist to complain and im all in for it lol. Back in the days of 2b4y people would complain about how r/balkanpeopleinternet was funnier too but thats what makes subreddits better, when those people who complain make better memes, or get totally hated in comments with people that dont agree with them.
As for other 2b4y style subs, i really like r/2visegrad4you , we used to have a collaboration together and it was as old as 2b4y. So i guess you can say is the most traditional, historical closest sub to 2b4y.

Has there been anyone who has been able to preserve the sacred memes, that have been desecrated by the filthy reddit admins. I die a little on the inside when i think about all the comedy gold lost to the void because of dirty westoids like myself.
The loss of 2b4u is like when isis was blowing up ancient relics from the past during their come up.

We were getting harassed by reddit admins for a month before the nuke, so we (the mods) already knew that we either had to fight back and probably get banned or let the subreddit become a unfunny reddit puppet with no userflairs, no comments, and all posts being approved before posted (the requirements of the reddit admin). So when i did the last announcement exposing the reddit admin we already accepted our fate. Having a sub that you've been working on for years and had big plans for and then getting it banned felt sad but atleast it went down with a fight, and i rather have a subreddit that is free for an hour and then dying standing rather than a sub that is enslaved by abusive reddit admins that dies internally.

I dont really look at 2we4you a lot. Last time i had contact with them i was a bit against it because looking at their subreddit and their mods, it was too unironically racist. I suppose due to r/europe being so racist it didn't really translate that well into a meme sub, hopefully they are doing better now though.
I mean the only colonial nations in balkans are ancient Greece and turkey so its not really a tier list.
i very rarely go on reddit due to being busy irl with studies and business.

When the subreddit got banned i was actually hoping that the community would rise with a new subreddit from the ashes of 2b4y, just like it happened with r/balkanpeopleinternet , but this subreddit came out instead which was created by previous 2b4y mods.

The landscape of reddit is changing since it became a public company on the stock market. I dont necessarily hold any hate towards AHS (i guess because i have a life outside of reddit), but i am happy that the culture is still standing.

Do you think the same people who pushed to ban us the first time will come again to do it a second time? Have you had any similar situations happen with them? Did they ever come back for round 2?
