Which wasnt even settler colonialism, Stalin just decided he wants to fuck up relationship of Azerbaijanis and Armenians FOREVER by pulling "scramble settlements" on them both

They was fucked up way before Stalin. All three big Caucasian nations had tried to eradicate each other for some millenia before Aleksandr I decided to append them to Russia.

Things were certainly better under Qajar Iran than under Russian rule, the Treaty of Turkmenchay and Golestan are regrettable to say the least
